Steps to Enroll
Step 1: Complete the online Admissions form - REQUIRED
Step 2: Apply for Financial Aid
Step 3: Complete your Placement Testing in Cottage Grove - REQUIRED
Step 4: Initiate your myLane account and complete the New Student Information Session
Step 5: Schedule a New Student Academic Advising Session in Cottage Grove (register below) - REQUIRED
Step 6: Register for Classes in mylane
PLACEMENT TESTING - REQUIRED!
Lane Community College in Cottage Grove offers testing for current students and students who expect to become Lane students. Our placement tests include reading, writing and math. We also provide the opportunity to discuss test results with our advisor, Mary Gilroy. Mary will assist you in exploring the meaning and implications of your test results and where to go from there. No appointment is needed at this time.
We STRONGLY encourage you to review Math before testing. You may review using this math review site. There you will find resources to help you prepare for the Math tests. You can also use the Math Review Sheets and Resources to score the best you can.
Reading and Writing: Reading/Writing Review for Placement Tests
Testing office hours:
Mondays - 9am to 5:30pm
Tuesday - Thursdays, 9am to 8pm
Fridays, 9am to 1pm
ACADEMIC ADVISING - Academic Advisors help students to:
- Learn about Lane's services and programs
- Explore your goals and select the academic path that is best for you
- Plan course schedules to meet personal needs
- Identify courses that meet degree requirements at Lane and at universities throughout the state
- Give assistance with understanding Financial Aid Issues.
Standard advising office hours:
- Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
(CLOSED Noon to 2 p.m. the 2nd Tuesday of each month,)
- Thursday, Noon to 4 p.m.
- Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Summer advising office hours 6/24 - 8/30
- Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
(Close at noon the 2nd Tuesday of each month)
- Fridays - CLOSED

NEW STUDENT ACADEMIC ADVISING SESSION - REQUIRED!
You must have completed Steps 1 and 3 before attending your New Student Academic Advising Session. If you have not completed your Placement Testing before your scheduled New Student Academic Advising Session, you will not be allowed to attend and you will need to reschedule.
Sessions run from 9am to 11am on the dates listed below.
