Tuition Waiver for Involuntarily Activated ARNG & Reserve Members

The Lane Community College Board of Directors has passed a one-time only 6-credit tuition waiver for all Reserve and ARNG Members involuntarily activated to serve in combat zones since September 11, 2001.

If you are currently serving in the ARMY National Guard or ARMY Reserves, you must first apply for Federal Tuition Assistance.   If you were denied FTA and/or are currently no longer enlisted in the ARNG or ARMY Reserves, you would be eligible to apply for the tuition waiver in addition to any Navy, Marine, Air Force and Coast Guard reservists who were deployed to serve in combat areas:

Documentation Required:

  • DD214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) documenting service after September 11, 2001
  • Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and/or Middle East Operations Medal (for example: OIF (Operation Iraqi Freedom) or OEF (Operation Enduring Freedom) (listed in Area 13 of DD214)
