Veterans Education Certification Information

This office assists students with using VA education benefits at Lane Community College. The veterans coordinator is responsible for ensuring students are complying with VA educational benefit rules and certifying student enrollments to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

VA Term Planners and Certification

A term planner needs to be submitted every term to request VA benefits certification. All GI Bill® students need to do this and your enrollment is only certified to the VA after you complete this planner. Access and complete the planner here and click submit. This will route to Academic Advising for review. After advising has reviewed the planner, it will then route to the VA School Certifying Official (SCO) for review and reporting to the VA. After your planner is processed by the SCO, the VA will notify you by email confirming they have received your enrollment information and they will also send you a letter in the mail.

Prepare for certification:

Apply for VA education benefits to obtain your certificate of eligibility from the VA. Visit with a veterans benefits coordinator, register for classes, and complete a term planner

Required:

  • Students using Veterans Education Benefits for the first time at LCC must contact the Veterans Benefits office to complete forms to setup your VA account at LCC. If you do not contact us, we will not be able to connect your account with the VA and report your enrollment.

  • Student veterans wanting to be certified for VA education benefits must submit a new VA term planner each term. Access and complete the planner here and click submit.

  • Students are responsible for ensuring certifying officials are informed of all changes to classes, schedules, or credits. Not doing so may impact your VA certification and the benefits paid by the VA.
