Dear LCC Community,
As the holiday season approaches and we close the chapter on Fall 2025, I want to pause and recognize what we’ve accomplished together this year. Lane is moving forward with purpose, even amid a challenging higher education landscape, and I continue to be inspired by the care and commitment our students, employees, and partners bring to this college every day.
This year, we sustained positive enrollment momentum and continued building back from a decade-long decline, with growth now trending in the right direction for multiple years. That progress matters because it reflects renewed trust in Lane’s value and relevance, and it means more people in our community are accessing education and training that can change the trajectory of their lives.
We also continued sharpening Lane’s identity as the workforce and talent development hub of Lane County and beyond, grounded in experiential learning and strong partnerships with K-12, universities, and industry. In the year ahead, we will keep building student-centered pathways that are clearer, more connected to real-world opportunity, and designed to help students persist and complete.
This year also brought important steps forward in innovation, especially in our human-centered approach to technology. Through the ongoing work of the Presidential Task Force on AI and the launch of the Fusion Lab, we strengthened Lane’s ability to lead thoughtfully, support employees in learning and experimentation, and keep our focus where it belongs: on students and the people who serve them.
At the same time, we have continued to face fiscal realities with clarity and care. This year we advanced our work to align resources with what matters most, using shared principles and community input to guide budget planning and long-term sustainability. While these conversations are not easy, I remain committed to transparency, responsible stewardship, and protecting the student experience as we navigate the path ahead.
Finally, I am proud of the ways this community continues to model respect, critical thinking, and constructive dialogue. This year, Lane signed on to a national Call for Constructive Engagement, affirming our belief that progress requires listening, learning, and improving together.
Thank you for everything you have done this year to support students, strengthen our culture, and serve our community. I wish you peace, rest, and joy during the holiday season, and I look forward to continuing this work together in the new year.
Warm regards,
Stephanie Bulger
