Humanities Departments
The Humanities Division consists of Language Studies, Communication Studies, and Writing and Literature Departments. With a wide variety of courses and a large number of different course offerings, you can develop a full range of expressive, interpretive, creative, and communicative skills.
Communication Studies Department
The Communication Studies Department offers courses that focus on oral communication in a number of contexts, including interpersonal communication, group communication, professional communication, cultural communication, and public speaking.
Language Studies Department
The Language Studies Department offers two years of study in French, Spanish, and Chinuk Wawa (from 101 to 203), satisfying graduation requirements of the Oregon University System. We also offer classes in American Sign Language (ASL).

Writing and Literature Department
The Writing and Literature Department offers courses in composition, creative writing, technical writing, literature, and film as literature. The Academic and Tutoring Center offers in person and online tutoring on papers written for any class at LCC.
