A chemistry placement test is required for students planning to take General Chemistry I, CH 221Z, who have not taken a prior college chemistry course. A score of 70% or higher on the placement test meets the prerequisite for CH 221Z. If you do not earn the minimum score, we recommend CH 155 Chemistry Essentials. CH 155 is a 3-credit non-lab course designed specifically to meet the prior college chemistry requirement of CH 221Z. Other college chemistry classes will also satisfy the prior chemistry requirement.
Prior to beginning the test, please have a copy of the periodic table, a scientific calculator, paper, and a pencil or pen ready. Before starting the test, be sure to have logged into your Lane Google account.
