Black Student Union (BSU)

We're a student-based organization focused on the cultural, social, and academic needs of African-American students attending Lane. The BSU is open to all students, regardless of race, creed, color, religious affiliation, or sexual orientation. Membership in the BSU requires a commitment to the mission of the BSU. The BSU is committed to the development of cross-cultural ties with all groups on campus and in the community at large.

Over the past 20 plus years I have worked as an educator in various levels of teaching and administration. My research and work focuses on ameliorating our African American males, symbiotically conveying and championing positive perception of their social, academical, and personal accomplishments until it becomes customary and expected! P.O.W.E.R. (Providing Wholistic Educational Resources) Consulting and G.R.I.O.T. (Greatness Rediscovered In Our Time) Mentoring gestalt, both serve as a conduit to continue my role in the “village” of altruistically affirming and assisting African American males. As the BSU Coordinator, I help students find community and success at Lane.
