Welcome to the Lane Child and Family Center (LCFC)! As Lane Community College’s on-campus early learning center and lab school, we provide engaging, play-based learning led by both experienced teachers and Early Childhood Education students. We’re excited to share updates and highlights with you.

Our center is open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. On Thursdays during the Fall, Winter & Spring we close at 4:30 PM. During the summer, our hours are 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM and we are closed on Fridays. We serve children ages 12 months through 5 years old.

The Lane Child and Family Center is a Reggio Inspired state licensed preschool/child care program serving families on LCC main campus. The program is one of three centers in Lane County accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and rated 5 stars by Oregon's Quality Rating and Improvement System.
Our program provides a play-based emergent curriculum emphasizing exploration and discovery as well as children developing at their own pace. Emergent curriculums allow for learning activities to evolve from the interests of the children. Our classrooms are intentionally designed to invite wonder and inspire exploration. Our well trained staff respect each child's unique needs and engage in safe, emotionally responsive ways. We welcome parent involvement and work to bridge the gap between home and school. The program provides financial assistance to help reduce the child care fees for eligible families.
The center offers full and part time childcare and the following:
- Large, well-staffed classrooms with experienced teachers who work alongside LCC Early Childhood Education students
- Spacious outdoor natural playscapes and learning garden
- Parent observation rooms to view classroom activities
- All staff have CPR/First Aide Training
