Work Experience Scholars
Hands-on experiences and on-the-job learning give students an edge when pursuing a job or new career. While over 600 LCC students currently engage in an internship or work experience each year, there are real economic barriers to internships and other work experiences that prevent many more students from taking part - including transportation costs, time needed away from current jobs, and childcare.

Your support will mitigate these barriers through:

• Student scholarships and stipends that make internships accessible;
• Critical work skills training like resumé writing, mock interviews, and job search assistance prior to internship placement;
• Expansion of early industry experiences for middle and high school students through summer camps, including outreach to students in rural Lane County;
• Access to the LCC Alumni Network and Handshake, our online career networking and job site – to strengthen the connection between our alumni and employers;
• Enhanced partnerships with local chambers of commerce to provide local work experience opportunities to LCC students and alumni.

Department & Program Support
You can make a lasting impact by giving to a specific academic department or campus program. Extending beyond tuition coverage, each department will access funding to enhance professional growth, curriculum development, faculty support and program innovation. This support provides the framework for student success by ensuring LCC offers outstanding academic programs that are responsive to community needs.
