The Lane PTA program is fortunate to have the support of many clinical partners who volunteer to provide clinical instruction for our students. The program is committed to expanding clinical education opportunities for PTA students and PT/PTAs alike. Site Coordinators of Clinical Education (SECEs) and licensed PT/PTAs who would like to become a clinical education site are encouraged to contact Beth Ann Thorpe, thorpeb@lanecc.edu, Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education.
Internship Requirements & Calendar
Students are concurrently enrolled in program courses during clinical internships. Students must meet program and Oregon Administrative Rule requirements before being placed in an internship.
The PTA program has three, full-time internships during the second year: one in fall, one in winter, and one in spring. Each internship is six weeks, 36-hours a week (4-5 days/week, 7-10 hours/day) in a program-selected physical therapy setting. Students may need to travel out of district for one of their three internships. Internships are typically scheduled during weeks 3-9 each term.
