Health Education, Health Promotion, Public Health Transfer Options

PROGRAM

Public health has been on all our minds. Learn how you can help.

What you’ll learn

Health Educators act as "agents of change" to facilitate the growth of individual and community awareness, knowledge, actions, and systems that promote human health and well-being. This process involves learning the skills of how to educate, assess, research, plan, advocate, develop, and implement activities and programs designed for long term improvement of health outcomes.

Transfer Interest Area

Lane’s Public Health Education and Promotion transfer interest area is interdisciplinary and integrates social and biological sciences which ensure health outcomes are seen through the lens of complex interacting systems. To understand the dynamic interacting dimensions of human well-being, we must study and understand how the physical, social, intellectual, emotional, environmental, and occupational aspects of our lives work together to create our current state of health.
