Are you a main campus student in need of legal help or legal assistance?


Access the Law Logo

ASLCC Legal Services is a student benefit funded by the Student Activity Fee. Legal aid and advice are available to all students who take lecture classes for credit on Lane's main campus. Students who take online-only courses, ABSE classes, noncredit classes, or courses at satellite campuses are not eligible for this service.

Access the Law is a not-for-profit law firm dedicated to serving the needs of students and those of modest means. 


ASLCC Legal Services includes the following legal services for Lane Community College students:

  • Landlord/tenant disputes
  • Uncontested child custody and uncontested dissolution of marriage cases, including child support determinations
  • Credit issues including debtor/creditor matters and collections, and bankruptcy consultation;
  • Consumer problems
  • Traffic infractions
  • Criminal charges
  • Wills & Power of Attorney
  • Personal Injury
  • Miscellaneous matters including 
    • Employment issues and unemployment benefits
    • Probate
    • Name changes
    • Disability benefits and social security
    • Veterans benefits
    • Student loan issues

While Access the Law cannot take on all legal matters; their office and attorneys are dedicated to advising and assisting LCC students.


To make an appointment, please contact Access the Law directly. Appointments must be scheduled in advance. There is no drop-in service. When scheduling an appointment, you must provide your full name, your L-number, and advise the scheduler of the nature of the matter.

You can either:

Access the Law will contact Student Life & Leadership Development to verify eligibility of all students who request appointments. Student Life reviews the student's record to verify that they have paid the mandatory student activity fee at the time of the request.
