Education is a lifelong journey and at Lane, we offer options at every stage of life from getting a jumpstart on a college education while still in high school to learning new skills to advance your career or to nurture a newfound hobby. Check out our credit and non-degree options offered to students of all ages.

Continuing Education

Whether you’ve always wanted to learn American Sign Language, jewelry making basics, or earn your flagging certification, Lane’s Continuing Education courses have got you covered! They can provide you with specific job skills and training, or help you learn a new skill just for fun.

Taking Credit Classes As a Non-Degree Seeking Student

Have a passion for dance or geography but not interested in earning a degree? Enroll as a non-degree-seeking student in almost any credit class and develop new skills and knowledge in your field of interest. If you’re a senior, you may even qualify for a senior tuition waiver!

Options for Seniors

There are several options for older adults to continue their education at Lane. A tuition waiver for adults 62 and older makes it easier to take advantage of credit courses and other special offerings like our Senior Programming and Senior Companion provide enrichment and education. 

Senior Programming 

Senior Programming at Lane is designed to enhance the lives of older adults and those who work with them. Explore new careers and gain new skills through interactive courses. Learn more about Senior Programming. 

 

Senior Companion 

The Senior Companion Program of Lane County improves the quality of life for the citizens of Lane County by providing supportive services and companionship to disabled and isolated adults. Learn more about participating in our Senior Companion program as a volunteer or how to receive services.

Senior Tuition Waiver

Lane offers a tuition waiver to adults 62 or older who are interested in taking credit courses. Learn more about this option and continue your educational journey at Lane.

 

Options for Middle and HIgh School Students

Did you know that Lane offers programming for middle and high school students? High school students can get an early start earning college credit through our Early College and College Now programs. And each summer, our Multicultural Center faculty offer programming for students of color to explore their cultural heritage.

Early College

Interested in getting a jumpstart on earning college credit by taking classes not offered at your high school? Check out our Early College program to access academic and career/technical courses that may not be available at your high school.

Rites of Passage Summer Academies

High school and middle school students of color in Lane County have the opportunity to explore their cultural history, literature, folklore and traditions through our Rites of Passage summer programs. These programs are coordinated by faculty in our Multicultural Center and include summer programming for Asian and Pacific Islander students, Native American students, African American students and Chicano/Latino students. Specialized Support Services

Our Specialized Support Services (S3) program provides employment training and education to adults who experience developmental and intellectual disabilities. The program is a cooperative venture between Lane Community College, the Lane County Office of Developmental Disabilities, and the State of Oregon's Seniors and Persons with Disabilities Division.
