Optional FERPA Release
Sharing of student information between school district staff, a parent, and Lane Community College staff requires a release of student record information, which is covered by the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). If you choose to release your information, it will be in effect for the entire term you receive the tuition-free course.
Please note that giving a parent a FERPA release is only allowed with the HS Connections Early College advisor, the Registrar, Admissions, and Bursar Office. A parent contacting another department on campus will not have FERPA rights.
We will only release Admission Requirements, placement testing results, course suggestions, and financial information to parents. We will not release registration information, final grades or class schedules.
I agree to and authorize the release of the limited information above to ensure I am taking the correct steps toward my one tuition-free course. Please let us know who we can talk to about your Lane account *
You are responsible for understanding your rights, responsibilities, and conditions of this one tuition-free course for one term. By submitting this form, I understand the following:
- I understand I am responsible for the payment of 100% of fees (at least $100 for online courses and $180 for in-person courses). I am aware textbooks, supplies, and course fees vary, and I will pay the costs associated with this one tuition-free course.
- If I drop my spring or summer course after the 100% refund deadline, I cannot receive a tuition-free course for a later starting course.
- I will check my.lanecc.edu email and ExpressLane billing account frequently.
