First Time in College students include anyone pursing a degree who hasn't previously attended another college. You're also a First Time College student if you took college classes while in High School. Still not sure? Admissions is ready to help!
Welcome to Lane! Start by submitting your application at least six business days before the start of your session.
Once you complete your application, you'll receive a confirmation email. You can then log into the admissions portal to check the status of your application and see your next steps. Once your application has been processed, you'll receive your L-Number (Student ID Number) and student email. You'll need your L Number to complete the rest of the admissions steps. If you run into any trouble, or have any questions, reach out to email@example.com.
To be eligible for financial aid, complete the FAFSA. Apply early, as it can take 4-12 weeks to process aid awards once all documents have been received.

- An email address you have access to
- Your Social Security Number, if you'll be applying for financial aid

Course Placement can help you ensure you’re successful in your classes. We'll use your high school GPA, prior college courses, AP, or IB scores, Smarter Balance scores, or other measures to determine your placement. You'll also have the option to take a placement test to help determine an appropriate math and writing placement. You may be able to complete your course placement and orientation on the same day online.
WHAT YOU NEED
- AP, IB, Smarter Balance, GED, SAT, or ACT scores, if you have them
- Your college transcripts, if you took college classes while you were enrolled in high school
- Your high school GPA
- Your L Number
