The President's Circle Reception is Lane Community College Foundation's most prestigious recognition event. Our President's Circle members come together to be recognized for their excellence in giving in support of the college. They have the opportunity to hear a student scholarship speaker and meet student scholarship ambassadors. The 2023 reception will be held in April at the Eugene Country Club.

Eldon G. Schafer Award for Innovation

Eldon G. Schafer

Each year, Lane Community College holds a competition to identify projects that embody the spirit of innovation envisioned by past president Eldon F. Schafer.

The Schafer Innovation Awards and the Schafer Pat-On-The-Back Awards are selected in collaboration with the Innovation of the Year, sponsored by The League for Innovation in the Community College.

The projects are selected based on the following criteria:

  • Effectiveness
  • Efficiency
  • Affordablity
  • Reliability, and
  • Creativity

Lane's Innovation of the Year Award is selected every February by a committee that consists of a volunteer pool of previous award recipients, LCC Foundation staff and Board members, and Lane's League Representative. In the event that none of the nominations are deemed to be of a caliber of nationwide recognition, no award will be made for that academic year.
