Step 1 - Admissions Application
Welcome to Lane! Start by submitting your application for summer at least six business days before the start of your session. If you're applying for fall, submit your application before Friday, September 20th. Once you complete your application, you'll receive a confirmation email. Within one to three business days you'll receive your L Number (Student ID Number) and a temporary password. You'll need your L Number to complete the rest of the steps.
To be eligible for financial aid, complete the FAFSA. Apply early, as it can take 4-12 weeks to process aid awards once all documents have been received.
Step 2 - New Student Information Session
Once you have your L Number, complete the New Student Information Session (NSIS). This short, online module will help you learn about student services, important deadlines, and your rights as a student.
Step 3 - Course Placement
Placement testing can help you ensure you're successful in your classes. While many students require a placement test to help determine an appropriate Math and Writing placement, you may also be able to use your prior college courses, AP or IB scores, Smarter Balance scores, or other measures to determine your placement. If you're applying for summer, you'll need to complete this step at least four business days before the start of your session. You'll need to complete this step for fall by Tuesday, September 24th.
Step 5 - Registration
That's it! You're ready to register! Sign into myLane to register for classes.
