Welcome to the Language, Literature, and Communication Division
Our division teaches a wide variety of courses in writing, literature, communications, and languages. Writing courses range from first-year college composition to technical and creative writing. We also teach Native American and world languages (French and Spanish). Finally, we provide the foundations of an English major and have a very comprehensive set of speech and communications studies courses.
In all of these fields, we prepare students to engage with the world around them in ways that will be relevant in any career path they choose. The LLC division is committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity, respect, academic excellence, and student success.
Many of our courses satisfy transfer, general education, and AAOT requirements, such as the Arts & Letters requirement, and we teach courses in all three modalities: face-to-face, hybrid, and online. We also offer a variety of ways to satisfy language requirements for Oregon universities. Written and verbal communications skills are some of the most sought-after by employers, and our fields of study foster them along with others, such as information literacy and critical thinking.
I invite you to explore our programs and to contact the division office if you have any questions. Thank you for your interest in the LLC division.
