EUGENE, Ore. — Lane Community College will hold a closing reception for artist in residence, Hong Hong, will give her closing presentation at a reception on at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7 in the lobby of Building 10 on the main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue, Eugene.

Hong Hong has exhibited her multidisciplinary work, “Everlasting Ephemera” during her residency at the college. Through paper-making, sculpture and installation, “Everlasting Ephemera” questions environmental, cultural, and social structures, as well as their long-term sustainability and equity. While at Lane, Hong Hong has worked on aspects of the project and one of her large-scale paper works will become part of the college's permanent collection.

Born in Hefei, China, Hong is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans paper-making, sculpture, installation, and performance. Her work has been exhibited at Real Art Ways, Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, Madison Museum of Fine Art, New Mexico History Museum, and Georgia Museum of Art. Hong is the recipient of grants from the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Center for the Arts at Wesleyan University, the Edward C. & Ann T. Roberts Foundation, The Greater Hartford Arts Council, and Artspace New Haven. Hong currently lives and works in Connecticut.
