Proposed LCC redistricting map available for review ahead of public hearing

EUGENE, Ore. — The Lane Community College Board of Education invites the public to submit feedback on proposed redistricting.  A map of proposed district zone changes can be reviewed online. Printed copies for review have also been posted at the following locations:

  • Lane Community College (4000 E 30th Ave, Eugene)
    Building 1 front window, Mon-Wed 9am-12:30pm, 1:30-3pm
  • LCC Florence Center (3149 Oak St, Florence)
    Available Mon-Wed 8am-5pm
  • LCC Cottage Grove Center (1275 S River Rd, Cottage Grove)
    Available Mon 9-11am; also posted on window by front door
  • Lane Aviation Academy - Flight Tech (28715 Old Airport Rd, Eugene)
    Available at Flight Tech building, Mon-Wed 1-5pm

Written public testimony can be sent to zmolekd@lanecc.edu by Dec. 14. Oral public testimony may be voiced at the LCC board’s Dec. 15 meeting (6 p.m.) via Zoom by registering in advance. After registering, a confirmation email will be sent containing instructions to join the webinar.

Following the public hearing, the Board is scheduled to discuss and take possible action on the proposed redistricting changes during its regular meeting.

The Lane Community College District serves a 5,000 square-mile area stretching from the Pacific Ocean to the Cascade Mountains. The district includes most of Lane County, as well as the Monroe School District in Benton County, the Harrisburg Union High School District in Linn County and a small area in northern Douglas County. Five district zones are used for the election of five of seven positions on the LCC Board of Education; two positions are at-large.
