Lane Community College President Stephanie Bulger has been appointed to
the Commission on Economic and Workforce Development by the American Association of
Community Colleges (AACC). Her three-year term began July 1, 2025, and runs through June
30, 2028.

The AACC Commission on Economic and Workforce Development advises the association’s
Board of Directors on matters that affect community colleges nationwide. Commissioners
provide guidance on strategies that support student success, strengthen partnerships with
business and industry, and advance workforce readiness initiatives across the country.

As president of Lane Community College, Bulger leads an institution recognized for innovation
in career technical education, healthcare training, transfer pathways, and community
partnerships. Lane serves more than 15,000 students annually across credit and noncredit
programs and is a key partner in Oregon’s workforce and economic development efforts.

The Commission on Economic and Workforce Development is one of nine commissions within
AACC that guide the association’s priorities. Commissioners are required to attend at least one
of two meetings each year and contribute to shaping policies and practices that impact more
than 1,000 member institutions nationwide.

Bulger’s appointment reflects Lane Community College’s ongoing commitment to student
achievement, economic mobility, and regional workforce development.
