EUGENE, Ore. — The Lane Community College’s Dance Program presents The Works Student Dance Concert at the Ragozzino Performance Hall on LCC’s Main Campus at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, May 18 and 19, 2023. “The Works Student Dance Concert” is a collection of dances and dance films conceived, choreographed, and filmed by Lane’s finest dance students. The dancers have been steeped in the creative process for the past several months preparing for the concert.

Colton Brown will perform a poignant duet exploring the space of relating. Olivia Ross has choreographed a group dance which comments on our addiction to social media, as well as a kinetic duet about the delights of friendship. Kaitlyn Nixon has choreographed a duet that explores the dynamic relationship between two friends. Ebony Woods will perform a duet with her sister Lucina Woods, who plays live guitar and sings. Tanya Neo will present a kinetic afro hip hop piece. Hales Wilson is performing their stunning surrealism solo, and Karen Sanchez and Grace Roberts have collaborated on a magical dance film piece.

As one of the premier programs in the Pacific Northwest and the sole 2-year program in Oregon, Lane's Dance Program nurtures dancers' physical, emotional, and academic growth. Catering to all levels of experience, the program offers a variety of courses designed to enhance technique and broaden horizons. With a focus on both transfer students and personal enrichment, classes span contemporary and ballet technique, somatics, theory, and world dance.
