What is Commencement?
Commencement is the annual ceremony Lane has for the graduates it certifies throughout the year. The commencement ceremony is usually held in June.
Your name will appear in the Commencement Program if you were awarded your degrees and/or certificates during Summer 2014, Fall 2014, Winter 2015, or have been cleared to graduate Spring 2015. Deadline to submit your degree application for Spring 2015 graduation was May 21st.
If you are completing your degrees and/or certificates after Spring 2015 you may participate in the 2015 commencement ceremony. However, your name will appear in the 2015-16 Commencement Program. Please do not fill out the degree application.
Saturday, June 11, 2016.
3:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Lane County Fairgrounds
Here's how to participate in the Commencement Ceremony:
Anyone can walk in the commencement ceremony. If your degree coursework is not completed by the end of spring term, your name may not appear in the actual program booklet. You will be able to make your own name card once you are at the fairgrounds. This is how the name reader will know who you are. Please hold on to that card during the ceremony until you get on stage.
The Student Life and Leadership Development Department is responsible for coordinating the commencement ceremony for credit students and GED graduates.
During the commencement ceremony you will get your diploma cover only. Your actual diploma will be mailed to you once your degree requirements have been met and after grades are in. This process can take up to 12 weeks. You do not have to attend commencement to receive your degree or diploma cover. You can pick one up or have a cover and program mailed to you by emailing: email@example.com or calling (541) 463-5336.
Graduates please plan to arrive to the fairgrounds at 2:00 p.m. and commence to the performance hall area where you will receive your name and degree card at the Titan store table. The doors will open to guests at 2:30. You will have a chance to visit with your guest and take pictures. If you arrive after 2:30 seating will be limited and you will feel hurried.
*2:30 degree areas will be called and you will line up according to your program. Listen carefully to the instructions as things move quickly.
