Update: Center Building Fire & Week One Library Operations

March 31, 2023
Lane Community College Main Campus Center Building after renovation

Dear LCC Students,

We hope you had a fabulous break. We wanted to provide you with an important update regarding a recent incident on our main campus and Library operations during Week One.

On Thursday, March 30th, a small fire occurred in the Center Building. Thankfully, there were no injuries and the damage was minimal. The Building has been inspected by environmental health and safety experts and it is safe.

The Center Building was closed and will reopen Monday, April 3rd.  All regular services, including the Titan Bookstore and food services, will resume normal operations with the exception of the Library.

The Library will have limited services during Week One. The Library services available are as follows: printing support, access to reserve materials, access to computers across from the Library in the Academic Technology Center Lab (CEN 219) and study rooms outside the Library.   The Circulation Desk and Student Help Desk (SHeD) will be accessible from outside the Library on the 2nd floor.  Access to the Library will not be permitted during Week One.

Our team is actively addressing the situation and we will continue to keep you updated on the Library's status. Updates will also be posted on the Library's website: https://library.lanecc.edu/.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to resolve this issue.  If you have any questions, please contact the Student Help Desk (SHeD) at shed@lanecc.edu.

Best regards,

LCC Student Affairs Team
