LCC wins seven regional marketing awards

EUGENE, Ore. — Lane Community College won seven Medallion Awards at the annual National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District 7 Awards competition, including six golds and a bronze. The awards competition occurred during the annual district conference, October 16-18 in Vancouver, WA.

The National Council for Marketing & Public Relations is the only organization of its kind that exclusively represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges. District 7 includes colleges in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Yukon Territory. Judges for the competition included higher ed marketers, advertising creative directors, and marketing and advertising professionals.

The six gold awards recognized excellence for best website; magazine; television ad (single); television ad (series); flyer (single or series) and logo design. The bronze award was for a budget publication in a wildcard category.

Lane’s marketing program is directed by Rebecca Long, director of marketing and strategic communications, and overseen by Brett Rowlett, executive director of external affairs. The web team includes Kyle Schmidt and Lori Brenden. The marketing program works in close partnership with the campus Design and Media Center, staffed by graphic design students under the direction of faculty Tom Madison in the Media Arts department.
