Lane Community College will hold its 2025 commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 14, at 10 a.m. Pacific Time in the Lane Gymnasium (Building 5) on the main campus in Eugene.
The ceremony will recognize students who completed degrees or certificates in summer 2024, fall 2024, winter 2025 and spring 2025. This includes associate degrees, one-year certificates and GEDs awarded across career technical and university transfer programs.
Preliminary data show that 1,272 graduates earned a total of 1,977 awards. This includes 96 GEDs, 1,272 degrees or certificates, and an increase in students earning multiple awards. Among these graduates:
- 51 percent earned career technical education awards; 49 percent earned transfer degrees
- 3 percent completed both a transfer and a career technical program
- 41 percent earned more than one credential
Graduates range in age from 17 to 65, with an average age of 28. Twelve percent of graduates are age 40 or older. Fifty-three percent identify as female, 46 percent as male and 1 percent declined to identify.
Demographic data show that:
- 67 percent identify as white and non-Latinx
- 15 percent identify as Latinx
- 9 percent identify as more than one race
- 56 percent received federal Pell Grants
- 23 percent received Oregon Promise Grants
- 57 percent are first-generation college students
International students from more than 20 countries are among this year’s graduates. The average GPA is 3.39, and 11 percent of graduates earned a GPA of 4.0 or higher.
