Balinese dance group Tirta Tari to perform at Asian Celebration, Feb. 18

Erin Elder performs Balinese danceEUGENE, Ore.—The Lane Community College Balinese dance group Tirta Tari will perform for the sixth consecutive year at the Asian Celebration on Saturday, February 18 at 5:25 p.m. at the Lane County Fairgrounds.

Jessica Ealy and Erin Elder will perform the 200-year-old Legong Kutir, a complex and compelling dance of war and love. Kristin Currier with perform the fiery and dazzling Margapati.

Artistic director and lead dance faculty Bonnie Simoa took the dancers to Bali in 2014 and 2015 where they studied with dance masters and performed in temples and festivals. Tirta Tari dancers embody the Balinese dance style with impressive detail and accuracy, and are a favorite at the Asian Celebration. Don’t miss them!
