EUGENE, Ore.—The Lane Peace Center is proud to bring Dr. Vandana Shiva to Lane Community College on Monday, November 21 from 6-7:30 p.m., in the Ragozzino Performance Hall, Building 6, main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue, Eugene. Her talk, “Soil Not Oil,” will focus on a new vision of planetary citizenship and a new pact with the Earth based on caring, respect, and mutuality with all life. It begins with changing attitudes about the way we treat the soil.  It should be cherished as a living entity, a Terra Viva, whose survival is essential for our own.

Vandana Shiva is a leader in this earth democracy, peace movement. She is the founder of Navdanya, a network of seed keepers and organic producers in India.  She is the Director of The Research Foundation for Science, Technology and Natural Resource Policy.  She is a world-renowned environmental thinker, activist, physicist, feminist, philosopher of science, and author. In 1993 she was the recipient of the Right Livelihood Award, commonly known as the "Alternative Nobel Prize".

The event is free and open to the public.  The event will be live-streamed.
