LCC board seeks applicants for Zone 5 vacancy

EUGENE, Ore.–The Lane Community College Board of Education invites applications for appointment to its Zone 5 vacancy for the 2019-23 term.

The appointee would serve two years and then run for election in 2021. Under Oregon law, appointees serve until the district’s next election.

Applicants must live within Zone 5 which includes downtown and south Eugene. A complete zone description is available online.

To apply, applicants should send a letter of interest and a resume including previous board or leadership experience to Lane Community College Board of Education Chair Mike Eyster in care of Executive Assistant to the President and Board Donna Zmolek, 4000 E. 30th Ave., Eugene OR 97405, or email The deadline to apply is July 1. Interviews will be held July 9, with final interviews on July 11.

At its May 23 special meeting, the board decided to leave the current Zone 5 vacancy open; it expires June 30. The board cannot declare a vacancy for the 2019-23 term until election results are certified by Lane County, expected to be around June 10, but the board can begin a search process.
