LCC Warming Center activated for Thursday, Dec. 7

EUGENE, Ore.— The Lane Community College Warming Center is activated for tonight, Thursday, Dec. 7, and is on standby for Friday, Dec. 8, Saturday, Dec. 9, and Sunday, Dec. 10.

LCC’s works in partnership with Egan Warming Centers. Egan centers open when the temperature is expected to drop below 30 degrees, from Nov. 15 to March 31 each winter.

The LCC Warming Center is located in Building 4, Room 104, main campus, 4000 E. 30th Ave., Eugene. The center opens at 6 p.m. and is accessible. The center is primarily intended for students and other homeless members of the LCC community. LCC will provide two meals, access to restrooms and showers, and a safe, warm place to sleep, including bedding.

LCC’s center was established by the combined efforts of students and the Department of Public Safety with support from campus Food Services and the Center for Meeting and Learning.
