Every year, Lane Community College’s Diesel Technology program faculty, students and staff decorate their bus and join the Springfield Christmas Parade.
“The Titan team turned out in force,” said Division Dean Pat O’Connor, despite heavy rain showers. “Thanks to faculty members Steve Webb and Jacob Tidball, staff member Pete Butler, and most of all, thanks to our students.”
Lane’s Diesel Tech program is AED certified and features a state-of-the-art laboratory designed to prepare graduates to work on highway trucks, construction equipment, forklifts, boats, recreation vehicles, trains and agriculture equipment.
Graduates are qualified to work as a diesel technician in service and repair of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, braking systems, electrical systems, drivetrains and air conditioning systems.
Some excellent employment opportunities include heavy equipment dealers and fleets, on and off highway truck dealers and fleets, independent repair shops, public transportation, school districts and government agencies.
