Lane Community College BSU's 7th annual Tiny Titan Summit. Our special guest will be author Dr. Khalid el-Hakim. Dr. el-Hakim is the founder and curator of Black History Mobile Museum. We will feature his new children's book Khalid and Khalilah's ABC's of Black History. Tiny Titan Summit is a fun interactive way of motivating early Black learners to read by introducing them to materials that will interest them. We understand when libraries have books that pique the interest of children, they will read more. Learning what materials are culturally appropriate, relevant, and of interest to black students takes time and sensitivity, but it’s worth the effort. The Lane Community College Black in partnership with  G.R.I.O.T. and B.LA.Q. Youth  is proud to contribute to improving the literacy development of future Titans.
