After fifteen bargaining sessions, and three mediation sessions LCC and LCCEA teams reach a four-year contract agreement that recognizes faculty contributions and supports long-term institutional stability
EUGENE, OR - Lane Community College (LCC) and the Lane Community College Education Association (LCCEA) are pleased to jointly announce that they have reached a tentative agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement. The agreement represents a meaningful milestone for the institution and the faculty who serve students every day.
The tentative agreement is the result of fifteen bargaining sessions, three mediation sessions and months of careful, dedicated work by both teams. The teams addressed 30 Articles and 53 side letters of agreement. Both the College and the Association recognize the patience of the broader LCC community throughout this process and are grateful for that support.
Key highlights of the tentative agreement include:
- A four-year agreement providing stability for faculty, students, and the institution.
- A 3.0 percent cost of living adjustment in each of the first two years and 3.1 percent in years three and four.
- A 1.5 percent longevity step to the top-step faculty wage range, both full-time and part-time.
- A 1.0 percent annual parity increase for all part-time faculty.
- Strengthened faculty privacy rights and updated anti-discrimination language.
- Reasonable workloads that will allow faculty to provide students the attention they deserve.
- Clarified information request procedures to support a clearer working relationship going forward.
- Broad contract language clarifications throughout the agreement that will benefit both parties by reducing ambiguity and improving day-to-day labor relations.
"We are proud of what both teams accomplished at the bargaining table," said LCC President Dr. Stephanie Bulger. "This agreement reflects our shared commitment to our faculty, our students, and the long-term health of this institution. Staying at the table, working through the difficult and nuanced conversations, and finding solutions that are both fair and fiscally responsible is exactly what this community deserved. I am especially pleased that we were able to prioritize part-time faculty equity in this contract."
The LCCEA also expressed enthusiasm about the agreement and the commitment shown by their members and colleagues throughout the process.
"This was a long and challenging process, and we are grateful for the overwhelming solidarity and resolve of our members," said LCCEA President Adrienne Mitchell. "We are delighted that we have reached an agreement that addresses faculty priorities in a reasonable manner and helps provide stability for our beloved LCC. We believe this agreement honors the dedication of our faculty and moves us toward a stronger future for our students and community. We look forward to working together to implement this contract."
The agreement reflects a shared understanding that a contract must be sustainable to serve faculty and students well over its full term.
The tentative agreement is subject to ratification by the LCCEA membership and formal approval by the LCC Board of Education.
