Transfer Interest Area
Begin your study of languages at Lane Community College and transfer to earn your four year degree with the Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT) degree. While fulfilling many general education course requirements for your bachelor's degree, learning a new language and culture. Choose from:

AFTER LANE
An Associate of Arts, Oregon Transfer (AAOT) degree will provide you with credits that will transfer to leading four year institutions for more in-depth study. The AAOT offers you the flexibility to choose courses that interest you while meeting university lower division general education requirements. And all with small classrooms, dedicate instructors, and affordable tuition.

Languages
Choose from four rich and relevant languages:
American Sign Language (ASL)
ASL is the third most studied language in the United States. With ASL, you can communicate with the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community, improve your cognitive skills, and develop a deeper cultural understanding.
Chinuk Wawa
Chinuk Wawa is an intertribal language of the Pacific Northwest. You'll study a unique language while also learning about the history and culture of Native peoples in this area. Like our other language areas, Chinuk Wawa courses meet World Language requirements for admission and graduation in the Oregon University System.
French
Did you know French is spoken internationally in over 50 countries? At Lane, you'll study French in diverse cultural contexts, using a proficiency-based model of learning that promotes intercultural competence.
Spanish
Spanish is the official language in 21 countries and is spoken by an estimated 500 million people as their native language. Students at Lane study Spanish in diverse cultural contexts, using a proficiency-based model of learning that promotes intercultural competence.
