Curious about Google Gems but not sure where to begin? This session is all about exploring together. Google Gems let you shape Gemini into a custom helper—whether that’s a teaching buddy, an advising assistant, or just a tool to save you time on routine tasks.

We’ll keep it hands-on and simple:

  • What are Gems, really? A quick tour of what they can (and can’t) do.

  • Pick a job-to-be-done. Think syllabus helper, email draft coach, or a study guide generator.

  • Try it out. You’ll create your first Gem with step-by-step guidance.

  • Talk it through. We’ll pause along the way to compare notes, share ideas, and raise questions about privacy, data, and boundaries.

By the end, you’ll leave with your own working Gem and a clearer sense of how these little AI “sidekicks” might fit—or not fit—into your work. No jargon, no pressure, just a chance to explore and experiment together.
