EUGENE, Ore. — Throughout March, LCC is celebrating Women’s History Month and highlighting contributions women have made to contemporary society. With its roots in the first International Women’s Day in 1911, the purpose of the month is to remember all women, both notable and ordinary. Lane Community College will once again host a forum in recognition of Women’s History Month to examine some of those contributions locally. The virtual event, entitled "Redefining Work: Learning from Pandemic Lessons," will be held Wednesday, March 9 from noon until 1:15 p.m. on Zoom.

LCC President Margaret Hamilton, who will host the forum, said, “We have much to learn from giving voice to these leaders in our community. They have experienced great challenges and have gained great insight from the experience. This is the right topic at the right time for Women’s History Month as we examine the way women are leading the charge locally when it comes to our health, our safety, our workplace culture and much more- with compassion and grace.”

Forum panelists include Lane County Director of Health and Human Services Eve Gray, Chemeketa Community College President Jessica Howard, and CEO and president of Springfield Chamber of Commerce Vonnie Mikkelsen. These local leaders will talk about lessons they learned during the pandemic about the changing way we work and leading change in our communities during turbulent times. Time will be reserved at the end for questions and answers.

The event is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required at advance registration(link is external). More information about this forum is available online
