Enrolling in Variable Credit Classes
When you register for a course offered for variable credit, you must complete additional step in myLane to indicate how many credits you intend to enroll for. Your myLane will automatically enroll you for the minimum number of credits for a variable credit course. However, it is up to you to change the number of credits.
Registering for more credits will increase your tuition accordingly. If you reduce the number of credits after the refund deadline, your account summary will initially show a refund of tuition for these credits, but will be corrected within 1-2 business days. The refund deadline does apply to variable credit classes. Credit levels cannot be adjusted on Wednesdays.
To change the number of credits:
- Log into myLane and open your Student Dashboard. Go to the Student Records section and select "Registration", then click "Register for Classes" and choose the term in which your class is offered.
- On the registration screen, click the "Schedule and Options" tab (fourth tab at the top of the page).
- You will see any classes you have registered for. Your variable credit class will have the number of credits underlined. Double click on the number of credits, and you will be able to change the number of credits.
- Once you have chosen the correct number of credits, be sure to click the "Submit" button at the lower right of the screen.
