SALEM, Ore. — The application for the Oregon Promise Grant is now available for students graduating between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024. The Oregon Promise is a state grant administered by the Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission's Office of Student Access and Completion that helps cover tuition costs at any Oregon community college for recent high school graduates and GED® test graduates. Students must apply during their senior year or immediately after GED® test completion. The submission deadline varies according to a student's graduation date. For clarity on specific deadlines, please consult the chart below. Each student can apply for the Oregon Promise Grant only once, determined by their graduation date. The majority of students should submit their applications by June 1. For queries or assistance with the application, reach out to OregonPromise@hecc.oregon.gov.

Students graduating between July 1, 2023, and Nov. 30, 2023, have their deadline approaching first. These students are required to send in their Oregon Promise application and either the 2023-24 FAFSA or ORSAA by Nov. 1, 2023. High school registrars have until Nov. 8, 2023, to confirm their GPA for the Winter Cohort. If you're a high school registrar seeking assistance, please contact PartnerPortalSupport@hecc.oregon.gov.

2024-25 FAFSA and ORSAA Delay - December 2023

The Office of Student Access and Completion (OSAC) has notified colleges that there is a delay with the upcoming 2024-25 FAFSA and ORSAA applications. Instead of the normal October 1 open date, applications will open in December 2023. OSAC is staying up-to-date with all communications from Federal Student Aid regarding the FAFSA application and a finalized open date and has created a webpage for resources, notifications, etc. surrounding the 2024-25 FAFSA and ORSAA.

Current college students receiving Oregon Promise do not need to apply again for Oregon Promise. Current recipients must simply submit the 2024-25 FAFSA or ORSAA by June 1, 2024 and meet all Oregon Promise Renewal criteria.
