New Federal changes beginning 2026-27 for Direct Loans:
Effective 2026-2027, there have been significant changes to the Federal Student Loan program, due to the Big Beautiful Bill Act. If you're enrolling for less than 36 credits for the year or less than 12 credits per term, you will have reduced (prorated) loan eligibility based on the number of credits you're enrolled. Dropping a class after receiving a loan will further reduce your loan amount for the following terms.
