Health Information Management
Program of Study
The Health Information Management Program provides an integrated online/hands-on two-year Associate of Applied Science degree program for the full time student. Students prepare for graduation through online lectures, hands-on lab, and supervised instruction within health care facilities throughout Oregon. A successful student must have good reading, time management and study skills. Course materials, group activities, class discussions, and interaction with the instructor are primarily available through the internet. You must be comfortable with instructional technology when you start the Health Information Management program. Lane uses Moodle as their learning management system for instruction. There are no accommodations for outside employment or other individual student commitments while completing program requirements.
The HIM program is established as a fully online program to meet the needs of working students and professionals. The exception to online courses is the requirement for cooperative education courses that are completed on site at a clinical facility.
Online Technology Requirements
Students meet the minimum requirements listed on Moodle to complete the courses. See Moodle Requirements for details.
