Dear Colleagues,
Over the past year, we have navigated a great deal together. Budget realities, ongoing negotiations, and the day-to-day work of serving our students have asked much of you. I want to begin by acknowledging that. I know this has not been easy, and I am grateful for the care, professionalism, and commitment you continue to bring to Lane.
As we move into the spring, we have an opportunity to collectively reflect, through our Spring Gallup Employee Engagement Survey, which will be open from Monday, April 13 at 9 AM through Monday, April 27 at 11:59 PM.
This survey is one of the ways we take stock of our institutional climate. It helps us better understand how you are experiencing your work, your teams, and the college as a whole. The Gallup framework gives us a consistent way to measure engagement over time, but more importantly, it gives us a shared reference point for meaningful conversations and action.
I want to be clear about two things.
First, your responses are anonymous. Individual responses are not identifiable, and results are shared in aggregate. Honest feedback is essential, and I encourage you to share your perspective openly.
Second, your voice matters. Every response contributes to a clearer understanding of where we are doing well and where we need to improve. This is especially important in a year like this one, where the decisions in front of us are complex and the path forward requires both clarity and care.
In past years, your feedback has directly informed departmental conversations, action plans, and college-wide priorities. That will continue. Listening is meaningful when it leads to action, and I remain committed to incorporating your feedback into our college decision-making processes.
You will receive a direct link to the survey in your inbox. When it arrives, I ask that you take a few minutes to complete it.
Thank you for all that you do for our students and for one another. I am proud to be part of this college and community, and remain committed to building a workplace where every employee feels valued, supported, and able to thrive.
With appreciation,
Stephanie
