EUGENE, Ore. — Lane Community College (LCC) is proud to announce that it has won two prestigious gold medals at the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) Paragon Awards. The awards ceremony took place during this year's NCMPR Annual Conference, held March 30 to April 1 at the Rosen Centre in Orlando, Florida.

LCC was honored with Gold in two categories: Magazine and Television/Video Ad Series. The NCMPR Paragon Awards celebrate outstanding achievements in design and communication at community and technical colleges across the United States and Canada, with this year's winners demonstrating exceptional creativity and originality.

The award-winning Magazine entry, "The Bleed," is an annual art and design publication from students in the Graphic Design program. This year's issue, titled "Emergence," focused on "the germination and emergence of the seeds planted during our recent collective time of seclusion [the pandemic]." For the Television/Video Ad Series, Lane captured Gold with an enrollment campaign titled, “We See the YOU We Know You Can Be,” an uplifting advertisement produced for television and streaming media.

Judges at the NCMPR Paragon Awards had high praise for both winning entries. For the Magazine category, one judge commented, "I am extremely impressed. This publication is beautiful and serves as an amazing recruitment piece. This magazine is a true success story." In the Television/Video Ad category, a judge remarked, "Great concept and execution. Love the slow motion in the video that really enhances the feel and message."

LCC's award-winning marketing program is led by Rebecca Long, Director of Marketing and Strategic Communications, under the supervision of Brett Rowlett, Executive Director of External Affairs. The department collaborates closely with Salvage Advertising and the LCC Design and Media Center, a marketing program supported by graphic design students guided by faculty Tom Madison from the Media Arts department.

These accolades serve to further showcase Lane Community College's dedication to excellence in marketing and communication. LCC is honored to be recognized by the NCMPR and to share this achievement with its students, faculty, staff, and community.

Brett Rowlett, Executive Director of External Affairs at Lane Community College, said, "We are incredibly proud of our talented marketing team and their exceptional work in promoting LCC. These gold medals at the NCMPR Paragon Awards showcase the dedication, creativity, and collaboration that our team brings to the table, elevating our college's profile and effectively communicating the value of the educational experience we offer to our students and the community. This recognition is a testament to the passion and hard work of everyone involved, and we look forward to continuing our pursuit of excellence in marketing and communication."
