LCC Continuing Education brings much needed program management training to the area

EUGENE, Ore. — Lane Community College Continuing Education is excited to announce the launch of a new series of classes in the growing and in demand field of project management (PM). The first class to be offered is Foundations of Project Management, and will begin February 8.

The addition of skills-based project management classes will fill a need in the Eugene-Springfield area. “Until now, there’s been no training like it locally, despite impressive growth in the PM sector,” says Bliss Newton, LCC Program Coordinator. “The field is booming and will be adding 2.2 million jobs globally in the next 10 years—we know it will be well received in the area, especially as the area economy grows” she adds.

Clyde Raymer Jr., president of the Project Management Institute’s Willamette Valley Chapter, will teach several of the classes. All of the classes follow the Project Management Institute’s (PMI®) Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide).

For more information about the field or the upcoming classes may attend a free informational session on Monday, January 29, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Mary Spilde Center, 101 W. 10th, Eugene, Room 312, or contact Bliss Newton at newtonb@lanecc.edu or (541) 463-6107.
