EUGENE, Ore. - The David Joyce Gallery presents “Hold it. Mix it. Serve It: Food & Drink Wares “an exploration of artful ways to Holding, Mixing, and Serving Food and Drink.
David Joyce Gallery carries on the tradition of David Joyce, artist and teacher. The gallery supports art in its many forms and sources and serves to teach, inspire, and provide an inviting environment. The gallery creates a fresh thematic series of two exhibits each year. We specialize in work exhibiting the glory and wonder of food, growing plants, culinary arts, hospitality, food markets, travel and the people who learn, work and live in these worlds.
Artists featured in “Hold it. Mix it. Serve It” are, Catia Juliana, Celeste Johnson, Chris Pontrelli, Dan Bruce, Faith Rahill, Joshua Newbold, Jane Snyder, Kathryn Torvik, Margaret Godfrey, Mary Jane Moffat, Michael Kelly, Nancy Stalbow, Robin Marks-Fife, Sandy Brown Jensen, Shelly Fredenberg, Stella Rhodes, Steve Mast, Steve La Riccia, and Susan Klein.
This exhibit also provides a tribute wall, showcasing a collection of eclectic, photographic cutout fragments by artist David Joyce (1946-2003) for whom the gallery is named. David was an art instructor at Lane for 25 years and recognizably known for his monumental flying people mural “Flight Patterns” at the Eugene Airport.
