Purpose

In the interests of ensuring compliance with contractual language, and to make the process for information requests easier for both union representatives and college staff, this procedure describes the response expected of any staff who receive a request for information. College staff may receive information requests directly from either the Lane Community College Education Association (LCCEA) or the Lane Community College Employees Federation (LCCEF.)

Narrative

College staff who receive information requests directly from either the Lane Community College Education Association (LCCEA) or the Lane Community College Employees Federation (LCCEF) are expected to:

  1. Notify the Chief Human Resources Officer or designee immediately. The LCCEA contract contains short time lines that the college must meet in responding to requests for information, so time is of the essence.
  2. The Chief Human Resources Officer (or designee) will be responsible for:
    1. Deciding how the request will be fulfilled and
    2. Notifying the union of the status of the request.

The goal of this procedure is to ensure compliance with contractual language, and to make the process for information requests easier for both union representatives and college staff. The Chief Human Resources Officer has sufficient experience in dealing with contractual issues to make processing and status determinations.
