Purpose

This procedure describes the mandatory immunizations which all students must have, and the responsibilities of the Health Clinic and departments for insuring that such immunizations are received.

Narrative

Student Health will coordinate college-wide compliance with all State laws regarding mandatory student immunization.

College departments are responsible for assuring that students in their programs are aware of, and in compliance with, all mandatory immunization laws. College departments will maintain all required compliance documentation.

The following current laws and regulations apply to Lane students.

Oregon Revised Statutes 433.283 requires two doses of measles vaccine for students born on or after January 1, 1957, and enrolled in one of the following programs: allied health, nursing, practicum experience in education and/or child care, and intercollegiate sports.

Occupational Safety and Health Act (29 CFR 1910.1030) requires that all students potentially exposed to bloodborne pathogens be immunized against hepatitis B.
