This procedure describes the steps to be taken for all solicitations for bids, requests for proposals and requests for information from women/minority owned and small businesses.
Lane Community College desires to encourage purchases from women/minority owned and small businesses within Oregon Revised Statutes limitations and the Community College Rules of Procurement. All solicitations for bids, requests for proposals and requests for information shall use the following procedures:
- Use the Internet to make solicitations available to the widest audience possible;
- Use the following language in all solicitations: "Minority and women-owned business are encouraged to participate in this solicitation"; and
- Use the State of Oregon directory of Women/Minority Owned and Emerging Small Businesses in developing quotes for purchases over $10,000. Contact Purchasing Services for a copy of the most recent list available.
When Purchasing Services is able to identify a women/minority owned or emerging small business as the optimum provider for the college, Purchasing Services is authorized (consistent with relevant Oregon statutes) to enter into contracts on behalf of the college. These contracts shall then be required for the college as a whole.
