This procedure describes steps to take to make submissions to Lane Weekly, the employee newsletter.



Lane Weekly is the official employee newsletter of Lane Community College. Its purpose is to provide news and information to help employees fulfill Lane's vision, mission, core values, and strategic directions. Employees should review each issue to stay informed of Lane business, policies, news, and events.


Lane Weekly is emailed Tuesdays unless otherwise announced. Deadline for submissions is 12 p.m. noon on the day prior to publication. 

Submission Guidelines

Send submissions to Lane Weekly via the online Lane Weekly Submission Form.

The form provide spaces for a headline, body (content), and contact information (name, department, and email or phone number), as well as a place for special requests to the editors.

Submissions are limited to 125 words or less in keeping with readers’ need for brief, concise information. Deadline for submissions is 12 p.m. noon on the day prior to publication. .


Lane weekly is distributed by email to LCC employees and to a separate subscribers list including Lane Board of Education members.

The newsletter is not printed or published online.


Events, news, announcements, trainings, job openings, and similar content is subject to editorial discretion in determining what is of interest to readers and what is good for the college. Memorial notices must be approved by a family member, close friend, or co-worker. General submissions will be published once and may be repeated a second time upon contributor request. Submissions including dated events or deadlines may be repeated for a total of three times upon contributor request. Contributors should ask for their preferred publication date.


Ads are considered a job benefit and are free and available only to employees. Ads will be published twice and may be repeated up to four times per term upon contributor request. Lane Weekly cannot publish corporate or for-profit business ads but employees may recommend a service provider, using their own name and number as a contact. Political advocacy and personals ads cannot be published.
