Oregon's the perfect place for Environmental Science! Many of our courses include field trips with on-campus field work in the south Willamette Valley, or longer trips to the Coast Range, Cascades, or the Pacific coast.

The Environmental Science transfer interest area at Lane can help prepare you to transfer to a four year institution, while studying the overall relationship between humans and the environment.
Transfer Interest Area
Environmental Science students look at the systems that make up the world around us. Students prepare for degrees in the natural sciences at UO (Environmental Studies or Science) or OSU (degrees in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences department).
Whether exploring the physical world around us or fulfilling transfer degree requirements for science courses with lab, students will find new things to learn with these classes at Lane Community College.
Lane’s environmental science series ENSC 181-182-183 emphasizes environmental issues involving land (181), air (182) and water (183). These courses all carry the college's sustainability designation, as well. Introduction to Soil Science (SOIL 205) and Gardening and Sustainable Food Systems (HORT 120) allow students to delve into the world beneath the Earth’s Surface.

AFTER LANE
The Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer degree will let you transfer to a four-year Oregon college of your choice to continue your studies in environmental science, opening the path to many careers that can help the fight against climate change.
Make sure you meet with advisors at both LCC and the college you intend to transfer to, since environmental science is usually an interdisciplinary major with different course requirements at each transfer institution. Learn more about transferring at our Transfer Center.
