About IEC

The Institutional Effectiveness Commission engages the campus community in understanding of mission fulfillment and institutional indicators; assesses the effectiveness of the College’s planning, improvement, and assessment systems and structures; evaluates progress toward mission fulfillment; and provides information and recommendations to the campus and community.

The IEC accomplishes its work by reviewing and providing recommendations about sponsored workflows/initiatives in these areas:

Accreditation
Assessment
Data governance
Key performance indicators
Process improvement
Program effectiveness, management, and review
Other duties as assigned by the sponsor

Current Events/News

In 2024/2025 the IEC will meet once per term. Future meeting dates, times, and locations will be posted when available. All are welcome to join as a viewing guest using this Zoom link.

During the 2023/2024 academic year, the IEC updated the MFI Scorecards, presented to College Council and Faculty Council, and kicked off the Annual Planning Workgroup in collaboration with the VP Academic Affairs. Linh My Ta, Communication and Data Specialist student worker, created a new resource, "About the MFIE Report." This visual brochure explains the purpose of the mission fulfillment report, how it was created, who was involved, how we measure mission fulfillment, and how the information is used. Check it out!

In our last meeting of the 2023/2024 academic year we began planning for next year (June 13, 2024, agenda).

During 2022/2023, the IEC provided recommendations to the administration for a Portfolio Review Process. Academic Affairs has moved that work forward by operationalizing the recommendations. For more info, read the letter from Shelley Tinkham, VP Academic Affairs, view the data, or contact her.

Membership

Below are the members of the Institutional Effectiveness Commission (IEC). Members serve for two (2) years & may be appointed to consecutive terms.

Committee membership is composed of representatives from all areas of the college: faculty, staff, students, and management. Some members are by position, while others are by rotating assignment.
